Katie Ireland

creative assistant photography videography

In her role as Creative Assistant, Katie Ireland  works closely with our five full-time staff members, as well as the extended Hurricane Productions and Media Cutlet teams. Her day-to-day work includes different administrative responsibilities, such as connecting with potential clients via social media, conducting online recorded events, and adding new ideas and perspectives to our various client projects.

Katie was introduced to the event industry as a teenager, when she worked for her aunt's catering business. In high school, she found a love for video production, which has followed her in different ways throughout her life’s career thus far.

"After traveling the country, living briefly in five different states the past five years, working a myriad of jobs, and meeting some amazing people, I feel like I have embodied so many valuable skill sets that have helped me and continue to help me tremendously with this job and with my life every day," Katie shared.

Katie initially applied for our Wedding Consultant position, but with her background and passion for video production, we saw an opportunity to create a new position that we never had before — and it turned out to be an even more perfect fit!

"After learning about Hurricane Productions when I saw their job posting, I knew immediately that they were a top-level company that believed in quality work," said Katie. "I trusted that they would be a great company to be a part of, that they would mentor me properly, and that I would be genuinely happy and honored to work for them. I am so thankful for this special unique opportunity and what is to come with it."

Although she's only been with us since January, Katie has already become an important part of the Hurricane Productions and MediaCutlet family. As her career progresses with this team, she sees new and exciting opportunities ahead that will allow her to take on different roles that she's always wanted to do professionally, such as MCing, editing, and more.

"Everyone at Hurricane Productions is extremely kind and fun to work with," Katie said. "It is absolutely the best thing about my job — and the fact I get to do what I love while learning more and more every day is just absolutely wonderful. I have learned so much, and am in love with this job."

Outside of work, Katie is an avid speed roller skater and has a deep love and passion for nature and conservation, specifically the beach, the ocean, and palm trees. She also loves Halloween and horror movies, game shows, and snorkeling, and is a proud cat mom to Benny the Blind Bandit.

Amanda Jones

photo editor photography video editor videography

Amanda Jones works full-time in collegiate athletics media and began working on occasional Hurricane Productions projects in June of 2018. As a videographer and editor, she shoots and edits footage from our Sweet 16s and Weddings.

Amanda discovered her interest in videography and editing during her time as a Rutgers undergrad when she started filming games for Rutgers Athletics. Soon after, she met a Hurricane videographer at a Rutgers event and learned more about the company.

"Though I was involved in many aspects of live broadcasts and highlight clips for Rutgers sports teams, I wanted to expand my abilities as a videographer and an editor, which is why I applied for a job with Hurricane," Amanda says.

As a professional, Amanda's main concern is putting out the best possible product she can create. That's part of the reason she enjoys working with the Hurricane team – she is able to bounce ideas off of other experienced editors and exercise creative liberty with her edits.

In her spare time, Amanda loves to travel and discover new people and places. Her goal is to road-trip across the U.S. and make her way across Europe.

"My favorite thing to do is to bring a camera with me and walk around new cities getting photos and videos and creating travel videos of all the places I've been," she adds.

Corynn Egreczky

photographer photography videographer videography

Corynn Egreczky is in her fourth year with Hurricane Productions, where she works on videography and photography projects for a variety of events. She's been interested in video since she was young and studied video and photography at Rutgers University.

"I have always loved movies, so I wanted to create my own," says Corynn.

Since graduating, Corynn has been very active in the industry. She's worked on feature films, short films, commercials, and corporate films, in many different roles, including director, assistant camera, production assistant, and VFX artist.

Corynn was running her own video business when she met Hurricane founders Vincent and Strato. They were all working the same wedding (Corynn as videographer; Vincent and Strato as the MC and DJ) and they all simply clicked.

"We exchanged info that night, and four years later I’m still shooting weddings with them," Corynn says.

Although Corynn shoots a lot of private events like weddings and sweet 16s for Hurricane, one of her favorite projects was covering the Rutgers Dance Marathon (#FTK – For The Kids), which benefitted the Embrace Kids charity.

"It was very moving, and we got some killer footage," she says.

What Corynn loves most about working with Hurricane is how well everyone collaborates. She appreciates the great communication throughout the day, and the fact that they're always willing to work with her to get the best possible footage and images. And of course, she adds, Hurricane knows how to get a party started!

In terms of her professional style and approach, Corynn says her clients have described her as a "chill shooter."

"Throwing a wedding or running an event is stressful enough, and I make it my personal goal to keep everyone cool and having fun," she explains.

In her spare time, Corynn is currently renovating a beach house in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.

Sivon Pichoto

photo editor photography video video editor videographer

Sivon Pichoto has been editing videos for Hurricane Productions since June 2018. She is naturally creative and has worked in graphic design most of her life, so learning video was an easy leap – but it was one she made somewhat accidentally.

In 2016, Sivon stepped in to film a wedding when a cinematographer for her then-boyfriend's entertainment company cancelled at the last minute. Despite knowing nothing about video, she filmed the entire wedding on her own (with a little help). She had a lot of fun, made a great video, and the rest is history.

"I knew from that first wedding that I could only get better from there," Sivon says.

Sivon loves being a part of people's special moments and making them come alive through video. She aims to treat every family as if they were her own, so whenever she shoots or edits, she makes sure that it's something she would want to watch if it were her own family.

What Sivon likes most about working with Hurricane is the friendly and flexible team that's always willing to share their expertise.

"You feel like a family right away, even if you only work with them part-time," Sivon adds.

Aside from her passion for videography, Sivon also loves snowboarding, and aspires to be an author one day.

Briel's Victoria's Secret Themed Sweet 16

nightlife lighting photography pink sheraton eatontown hotel sweet 16 uplighting victoria's secret video

Since Briel's Sweet 16, at Sheraton Eatontown Hotel, we've had a host of reactions to the photo and video content. Some can't believe it was a Sweet 16, others are convinced the Victoria's Secret marketing department was hired for the design work.

Just to settle this, once and for all – Yes, it was a Sweet 16. And no, the Victoria's Secret brand did not play a part in bringing Briel's theme to life.

Sweet Sixteen

Five important details were needed to make Briel's Victoria's Secret theme a reality:

  1. Lighting – Briel's ballroom was blanked with bright pink lighting and club lighting provided by Hurricane Productions. The room featured custom name in lights projections, also designed by Hurricane. The name in lights, or gobo projections, mimicked Victoria's Secret branding including font treatments and graphic style. To top it off, the dance floor had it's own dedicated lighting system to create an authentic night club experience.
  2. Custom Graphics – TV screens around the event space displayed personalized motion graphics incorporating Briel's name and Victoria's Secret theme elements.
  3. The Cake – Briel's cake looked like it was pulled right out of a Victoria's Secret catalog. The lettering, color scheme, and design perfectly complimented the theme.
  4. The Dress – Any confusion regarding the theme of this party was put to rest as Briel entered the room. Her dress was absolutely stunning.
  5. The Party Favors – Briel's family went to great lengths to solidify this theme. They even bought Victoria's Secret gift bags from stores around the state for guest party favors.

Combining these design elements with pink uplighting around the room and incredible entertainment delivered the Sweet Sixteen experience Briel was hoping for.

Nick Nittoli

director of operations hurricane productions nick nittoli OPS! photography videography

Nick Nittoli first met Hurricane Productions co-founder Vincent Velasquez at St. John Vianney High School, where they both played on the baseball team. The two kept in touch after graduation and in June of 2011, Nick reached out to Vincent about freelance photography work. His first Hurricane gig was a Bat Mitzvah held at the event space of PNC Bank Arts Center, and from there he earned a spot in our rotation of photographers.

Nick has always liked taking pictures and capturing moments for others to look back on.

"There are so many things that go into a memory," he says. "I just wanted to make sure I captured the part that could bring someone back to whatever moment was happening. I thought that was always and still is the key to a great photo."

As Nick continued to shoot events for Hurricane, he eventually sought to increase his responsibilities and value with the company. He participated in a training session with one of our lighting techs, Thomas Bishop, which inspired him to do everything he could to further his education in the field.

This ambition and desire to learn new skills allowed Nick to take on other work like video and graphic design, and eventually he was promoted to the role of Director of Operations. In this role, Nick gets to implement things that hopefully make the company operate better for everyone.

"It starts with our clients and affects all our staff," he says. "The goal is to make the overall process from start to finish something everyone enjoys and keeps people excited about our company and the experience we provide."

Like many of his Hurricane colleagues, Nick loves working the Rutgers Dance Marathon every year. Although it's long and stressful, it's also incredibly fun and rewarding for the team.

"It's amazing to see everyone work together to create an awesome event for the patients of Embrace Kids Foundation and their families," Nick adds.

It is this spirit of collaboration that Nick enjoys most about working with the Hurricane team. They are in fact a team, he says – one that pulls together to get things done, even when they're tired or struggling.

"We are always looking out for one another and more importantly, we look at each other as family," says Nick. "I'm not sure you get that same type of environment in another company."

According to Nick, the most important thing a prospective client should know about Hurricane Productions is that the team goes above and beyond for every event, putting in an extraordinary amount of effort and time on each project.

"We make sure we're doing everything we possibly can to deliver an incredible product married with an awesome overall experience," he says.
