Photo Booth

Photo booths offer guests a fun, interactive experience at your wedding, as well as a unique souvenir to take home with them. Hurricane Productions can set up a photo booth in the style of your choice at your venue. You can select an open-air booth using your venue as the backdrop, or an enclosed booth with a white draped curtain. Our photo booth package comes with a prop box, unlimited double-strip prints with a custom logo on them, a USB drive and download link of all photos, and a scrapbook of prints. This add-on is also available with any of our photo and video packages.

Indoor ceremony sites typically have their own audio setup, but if you're getting married outdoors, you'll need a speaker and mic to make sure guests can hear your officiant, your vows, and any other readings or performances at your wedding. Our wireless auxiliary sound system is battery-operated and cable-free, so we'll help you get crystal-clear ceremony sound anywhere, no matter how remote your ceremony location is.

The right lighting can completely change the atmosphere of a room. To set the mood for your wedding reception, our professional lighting designer will set up and control a series of battery-operated, wireless uplighting throughout your venue in the color and style of your choice.

Photo Montage + Social Streaming

In the social media age, sharing memories from your big day is all about your #weddinghashtag. With this upgrade, we'll provide two 42" LED TV screens that continuously stream posts with your hashtag from Instagram and other platforms, so your friends and family can see what other guests are sharing throughout the event. We'll also create a custom monogram animation and a photo montage to play during your reception.

Name-in-Lights Design

When Should I Book My Wedding Vendors?

As soon as you and your fiancé decide on a wedding date, it's time to start finding your vendors and booking them. Many venues, photographers, videographers, DJs, and other service providers have their calendars set months – sometimes even a year or more – in advance so you don't want to wait and risk losing the vendor you want.

Based on our couples' experiences and a variety of wedding planning resources, here's an approximate timeline of when you should start conversations with your various potential vendors.

Essential Wedding Vendors

Ceremony and Reception Venue(s): 12+ months before

Your wedding date is not official until you secure the ceremony and reception location. This should be the very first contract you sign, because every other vendor you hire will need to know when and where to be on your wedding day. Start looking at venues as soon as you and your fiancé have an idea of when you want to get married – you don't want to fall in love with a reception hall only to find out that your date isn't available.

Some couples choose to hold their ceremony and reception in the same place, but if you want your ceremony in your house of worship or another off-site location, you should book that before the reception venue.

You should also confirm that your chosen reception venue offers an on-site catering package. While many do, some do not, so this may be an additional vendor for you to research and book. If you're hiring an outside caterer, this should be done within a few months of booking your venue.

Photographer: 10 to 12 months before

Most couples hire a professional photographer to document their wedding day. During your research, go through the photographer's online portfolio and take a look at past weddings they've shot to get a sense of their overall style. When you find someone whose work you love, reach out for a quote as soon as possible – local wedding photographers with a great reputation never have a shortage of clients

Videographer: 10 to 12 months before

Like your photographer, a high-quality wedding videographer in your area will book up quickly. Some photographers also offer videography services, so you may be able to secure both at once. Be sure to ask about their videography style and look at samples to make sure their creative vision aligns with yours.

DJ/Entertainment: 8 to 10 months before

Whether you're hiring a DJ or a live band, your wedding entertainment provider sets the mood and atmosphere for your wedding reception. You'll want to get to know the person or people who will be interacting with your guests throughout the event; it's important that you find someone you feel comfortable with. A great wedding entertainer will listen to you and work with you to plan your playlist and timeline based on your preferences.

This is also a good time to think about ceremony music.  Will your reception DJ provide a ceremony sound system, or would you prefer to hire a separate musician to play while you walk down the aisle? Either way, it's a good idea to get your entertainment lined up early.

Officiant: 6 to 8 months before

Choosing a wedding officiant is often a very personal decision for an engaged couple. You want someone who is not only comfortable speaking in front of a crowd, but also knows you individually and as a couple so they can personalize the ceremony.

Churches and synagogues typically provide an officiant for you, but if you're getting married elsewhere, you will need to select and book the person who will perform the ceremony.

Other Wedding Vendors to Consider

The following wedding vendors can typically be booked within six months of your wedding date:

  • Cake baker (if your venue doesn't include this in their catering package)
  • Florist (centerpieces, bridal bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, etc.)
  • Transportation (limos, party buses, trolleys, Rolls Royce, etc.)
  • Hair stylist and makeup artist
  • Formalwear rentals

Is Your Wedding Date Flexible?

Some couples want to get married on a particular date because it holds significance for them, like a special anniversary or holiday. If you and your fiancé are set on having your wedding on a certain day, you should book your major vendors as early as possible to ensure that your preferred providers are available. You may have to compromise on certain vendors if your wedding date is a popular one.

If you're more flexible about your specific wedding date and have a backup weekend in the same month or season, you may have a better chance of getting the venue, photographer, or entertainer you want. Regardless, it's wise not to announce your official date to friends and family until you've secured your major wedding vendors, just in case something falls through during the booking process.

Joe and Jamie, Clarks Landing

When you’re getting married in a coastal state, why not hold your wedding at a place that overlooks a beautiful body of water?

That’s exactly what Joe and Jamie Forsyth did for their summer waterfront wedding.

The Forsyths held their ceremony and reception at Clarks Landing Yacht Club, one of our favorite Jersey Shore wedding venues. This Point Pleasant establishment sits just off the docks of the Manasquan River.

The couple took advantage of the gorgeous backdrop at Clarks Landing for some of their portraits, captured by Hurricane Productions photographer Mike Slagter.

Mike stayed with the couple throughout the day, from their pre-ceremony preparations with the wedding party to the last dance at the reception. He worked alongside videographer Corynn Egreczky, who also provided full-day coverage for the newlyweds.

After they exchanged their “I dos” in front of the marina, Joe, Jamie, and their guests headed inside to Clarks Landing’s Grand Ballroom for the reception. Their all-white tablecloths and floral centerpieces were perfect for a summertime Jersey Shore wedding.

When guests weren’t out on the unique circular dance floor, they could enjoy an exquisite view of the water from the second-story ballroom’s floor-to-ceiling windows.

With their package, the Forsyths received 10 to 15 “sneak peek” photos the day after their wedding, a three to five-minute highlight video, and a feature-length, 60 to 90-minute edit of their entire event.

Kate Spade Inspired Sweet 16, The Imperia

The playful yet sophisticated designs of the late Kate Spade are beloved by women across the world.

Many American girls even considered buying a Kate Spade handbag as a “coming-of-age ritual,” a “status symbol,” and a “token of adulthood.”

In keeping with this idea, Brianna chose to make Spade’s designs the center of her themed Sweet 16 celebration. Her friends and family gathered at The Imperia in Somerset, New Jersey for an evening of food, fun, dancing, and the inspiring ethos of Kate Spade.

Before her reception, Brianna posed for formal portraits taken by Hurricane Productions photographer Corynn Egreczky. The birthday girl wore a pastel pink embroidered ballgown, while much of her family and Court donned formal black and gray attire.

Later in the evening, Brianna changed into a gold embroidered mermaid-style dress to finish out her celebration.

Brianna and her family decked out The Imperia’s Cristal Ballroom in Spade’s classic design colors: black, white, and gold with splashes of pink. Hurricane Productions created a custom Snapchat geofilter, LED TV-displayed animations, and a Name in Lights projection – complete with a spade icon – as part of Brianna’s Photo & Entertainment package. The Name in Lights design was also used on custom t-shirts worn by Brianna’s Court.

Brianna’s Sweet 16 entertainment team included DJ Nate Hawley and emcee Robert Padovano. When guests weren’t dancing under the intelligent spotlighting, uplighting, and club-like dry ice cannon, they were using the attended open air photo booth to create memories of their own.

Raissa's Sweet 16 - The Gran Centurions - Clark, NJ

It was a night to remember for Raissa, her friends, and her family, some of whom traveled all the way from the Philippines to celebrate her 16th birthday.

The Colonnade Room of The Gran Centurions, an elegant Union County event venue in Clark, New Jersey, was transformed into a pastel paradise for this Sweet 16.

Raissa included her mint green and pink floral theme in all the details and decor of her celebration. Pink rose string lights and flower pom-poms adorned the tables. The birthday girl, her family, and her Court dressed to match the color scheme. There was even a tree with teardrop tea light ornaments, which Raissa later used in her unique candle lighting ceremony.

In Filipino families, young women traditionally celebrate their “debut” into adulthood at age 18.

The birthday girl performs a choreographed dance with her hand-selected Court. Then she waltzes with 18 special males in her life, each of whom gives her a single rose. Raissa and her family adapted this tradition with a rose ceremony, which included her father and grandfather.

Hurricane Productions helped set the mood for this special event with intelligent spotlighting, colored uplighting, a photo montage and custom animations displayed on LED TV screens, and a Name in Lights design projected on the wall.

Raissa also had an attended open air photo booth and custom Snapchat geofilter.

As part of our Media & Entertainment Package, Raissa’s Sweet 16 was captured in photos and video by Corynn Egreczky and Markus Robinson. DJ Nate Hawley kept the music playing while emcee Robert Padovano engaged guests on the dance floor and even posed for selfies with the crowd.
